Who's going down?

It's nice to know at least 'Boro can't win the league this year. But based on recent form NUFC is finishing 4 points below the drop. I predicted relegation a couple of years ago. Michael Owen basi... Read More »

Death Of A DVR

Thursday April 9th will forever be known as the day my DirecTV DVR died. Well, not exactly died. The DVR still worked, it was the tuner that was having issues. So I had to have a new unit put in.

Gone are some "classic" games I'll never get to see including the A-League final from this past season, the MLS "instant classic" between LA Galaxy and NY/NJ RedBulls and other various and sundry matches that I just never squeezed into my viewing schedule.

Enough whining. On to the matc…

Kazim! And Ebanks-Blake!

When your intrepid blogger last left you, his team had started a form-defying run of a tie and a win against two other relegation-threatened teams. My, how things have changed.

Saturday March 29th.

Game-Birmingham City vs. Manchester City. 1100am EDT. Fox Soccer Channel.

Status-Watched on DVR.

Brum 3-1 Citeh.

By all accounts I must have watched this game, but I can't remember a thing about it.

Game-Reading vs. Blackburn Rovers

More Soccer Watched

Thursday March 20th.

Game-US U-23 vs. Canada U-23. 907ishpm EDT. Fox Soccer Channel.

CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Semifinal

Status-Watched Live.

USA 3-0 Canada.

USA qualifies for Beijing. Lots of MLS teams will be missing key players during the key playoff push. There's something to be said for fixing the calendar to the FIFA calendar. But then again, I don't want to sit and watch games in 20 degree weather.

Friday March 21th.

Everton 2-0 Fiorentina AET. 2-2 Aggregate. Fiorentina win on PK's 4-2.

Excellent game by Everton. Excellent PK save by Fiorentina keeper. Yakubu had a shockingly casual miss off the post.

We're Going Down

And there's nothing you can do about it, King Fat Kevin Keegan.

Game-Everton vs. Portsmouth. (3/2).

Status-Watched on DVR.

Everton 3-1 Pompey.

Had this on the DVR and since there was nothing live Saturday morning at 8am I watched this one. Nice celebration, Cahill. You know your brother is justly incarcerated, right?

Hi Jay!

The logo and the underlined name link to two different places - the logo is to the homepage, the name is to the banter dashboard.

I agree this is probably not intuitive - kinda like a caption under a photo that describes a different photo - but it's consistent with the other parts of the system which I'm building on top of. Thanks for the feedback - it's something I could address when I get around to revamping the site.

Hope you managed to stick around for the weekend's game. It would be typical to say "I'm not watching THAT anymore" the weekend they start winning!

Chin up mate, it's still really difficult to get relegated in this league. It's not the liverpool aways that you have to panic about.

Jay! Here's the link you're looking for. Well, it covers the last 8 games, not just the festive period.

Newcastle are currently 4th-bottom...and that's before they hid their bad patch.

BTW...I thought the Stoke game was bliddy brilliant!
